Danny Q is a Minneapolis-based funk saxophonist and nationally touring artist. He’s worked and performed with artists such as Robert Randolph, Stokley, Eric Gales, The Hornheads, Paul Peterson, Ricky Peterson, Shaun Martin and Bobby Lyle. He’s opened for Sheila E, Morris Day & The Time, The Motet and Harvey Mason.

Danny has performed all over the United States at festivals and venues including: First Avenue, Jazz On The Vine, Clearwater Jazz Festval, Jazz Legacy Foundation, Gallery Suite Jazz Series, Selby Jazz Festival, Little Apple Jazz Festival, Phil Denny’s Christmas Collective, Burnsville Jazz Festival, Twin Cities Jazz Festival, Grand Marais Jazz Festival, Spaghettini’s, Catalina Jazz Club, Satchmo’s Jazz Club, The Brooklyn Bowl, St. James Live, Dakota Jazz Club, Bethesda Jazz Club, The Soiled Dove, BLU Jazz, Jazz at the Creek and Perfect Note Jazz Club

Danny is currently on tour with Eric Gales

Danny’s last solo project PINK! was released in 2018 on Innervision Records. It had multiple charting songs and was picked up by Sirius XM radio. His Everything PINK! tour landed him shows all across the United States, including The Clearwater Jazz Festival opening for Sheila E & Morris Day & The Time.

Danny plays on an Eastman 52nd street alto sax with a SYOS 3D custom printed mouthpiece, a Silverstein ligature and uses #3 MARCA jazz reeds. For recording, he uses Logic X Pro, an Apogee Element 88 audio interface and records with an AKG C214 mic. For live performances, he uses an AMT wireless mic and Alclair molded in-ear monitors.
